Phil has been legal counsel for Metalysis since September 2019. He also serves as counsel to Reimer World Corp., a private Canadian corporation based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with interests in trucking, warehousing and logistics.
Phil spent over 20 years as in-house legal counsel with Cargill Limited, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, including 12 years as Manager of the Canadian Law Department. Cargill Limited is the Canadian subsidiary of Cargill Incorporated; a private company with global operations in food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services.
Phil started his legal career in private practice with the Winnipeg based firm of Pitblado & Hoskin before his first move to an in-house counsel role with the Province of Manitoba’s Civil Legal Services Branch.
Phil has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto.
Outside of work, Phil participates as a director of non-profit boards, currently on the board of Concordia Hospital, a regional hospital serving northeast Winnipeg. Previously, Phil has served on the boards of a personal care home and two private schools.
